Vaccination Programs in Cuba Acknowledged |

Havana.- The Cuban health system has a comprehensive vaccination program which ensures a large health protection since childbirth.
According to experts, the immunization comprises 13 diseases; apart from its free and universal access in the public health services.
With these priorities, Cuba was able to immunize, several decades ago, the different social groups from generation to generation after 1959.
These results are complemented by the lowest infant mortality rate in Latin America, with 4.6 deaths per 1,000 live births in 2012; and one of the lowest mother mortality rates in the world (21.5 deaths per 100,000 live births).
Likewise, priority is given to programs of high impact in human health and to researches on vaccines against dengue, HIV and cholera.
