United Airlines Reports Profits |

Washington.- United Airlines reported net profits of 273 million dollars during the second trimester of 2010, in contrast to 28 million dollars during the same period last year.
The company, which is merging with Continental Airlines, reported a turnover of 5.2 billion dollars, accounting for an increase of 28 percent compared to last year.
Revenues during the semester rose 22 percent, enough to counter operational expenses, which grew 12.9 percent.
From April to June, the airline's revenues per passenger, seat and mile increased 26.9 percent, compared to the same period last year.
The highest increase in revenues was reported on flights to Latin America (55.9 percent), followed by the Pacific routes (52 percent) and transatlantic flights (33.1 percent).
