New Health Professionals Graduate in Las Tunas
Monday, February 01, 2010

Havana.- For the first time in history, experts in nephrology graduated in the eastern Cuban province of Las Tunas.

Local health authorities pointed out that three doctors from the province were the first experts to graduate in that medical specialty, so there are 15 nephrologists in Las Tunas at present.

The Ernesto Guevara and Guillermo Domínguez hospitals, in Las Tunas and Puerto Padre, respectively, provide nephrology services.

Those institutions have 18 artificial kidneys to provide hemodialysis treatment to 70 patients suffering from chronic kidney failure from eight municipalities.
