New Cuban Gymnasts Make National Team
Monday, February 18, 2008

Havana.- The Cuban artistic gymnastics team has been renovated in order to meet major challenges during the Olympic cycle that will begin after the Beijing games.

Cuban experts said they are working on the programs for the 2009-2010 season.

At present, coaches are working with two teams, one of which is made up of gymnasts who competed in the Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro last year.

Veteran gymnasts Yanet Comas and Mirlay Sanchez are training with rookies aged 13-14 to achieve the team's medium-term goals.

The Cubans will not participate in the Beijing Olympics, so they will have plenty of time to train for future competitions.
