New Tourist Complex in Morocco
Monday, July 11, 2005

Rabat.- Qatar will build a tourist complex in the province of Tangier, in northern Morocco, at a cost of nearly 170 million dollars.

King Mohammed VI of Morocco and Prince Cheij Hamad Ben Jalifa Al Thani of Qatar signed the agreement giving green light to the project.

Four Moroccan ministers (Interior, Finances, Industry and Commerce, and Transportation and Public Works) were present at the signing ceremony, which was held at the Royal Palace of Merchan, in Tangier.

On behalf of the emirate, the ceremony was attended by the vice president of the Council of Ministers and Foreign Minister, Sheih Hamad bin Jasim bin Jabr Al-Thani.

The complex will be built in a zone known as "Huara", near Tangier's airport, and will cover an area of 230 hectares, according to the sources.

The project is part of a vast program of investments that companies from the emirate will carry out in Morocco over the next few years.
