Havana.- The Oscar María de Rojas, in the city of Cárdenas, western Matanzas province, has been visited by more than 160,000 people since it was reopened in December 2003.
The institution, the second oldest museum in Cuba, features collections on natural sciences, history, weapons and other curiosities that draw visitors' attention.
According to experts from the museum, visitors make favorable comments on the techniques used to preserve the artifacts on display and the high quality of the restoration works on the building.
The center was founded by the Cuban patriot Oscar María de Rojas and is located across from the José Antonio Echeverría Park, in Cárdenas.
The park is surrounded by mMany cultural institutions that provide a wide range of options to local people and visitors.
