Address
Calle Egido, Estación Central de Ferrocarriles de La Habana.. La Habana Vieja. La Habana
Description
Cuba was the first Ibero-American country in developing a railroad after the opening in 1837 of the first railroad between Havana and Bejucal. Since then, this means of transportation has played an important role in our economy. Today, Cuba has a valuable fleet of steam locomotives; among them: “La Junta”, the oldest locomotive that is still preserved. It was made in 1842 by the American company Roger Katchum and Groesvener of Patterson, from New Jersey.
