Description
The fort, which is located in Morrillo Chico, Jatibonico, was just a fort called San Nicolas and was used by the Spanish army as a lookout post because of its location, from which most of the coast could be seen. It was taken by the revolutionaries on February 24, 1895, thus becoming the first war action that took place in Guantanamo.
