Ecological Reserve “La Coca”
Places of Interest
Address
Campo Florida. La Habana del Este. La Habana
Description
The ecological reserve “La Coca” is one of the special sites of interest in the City of Havana, since it has important natural values of flora and fauna, and is truly a shelter of the nature that is unique in the territory. Along with the natural values, there are significative historical and cultural elements, such as the place where the Colonel of the Liberation Army Nestor Aranguen, died in combat on January 27, 1898; and the existence of “El Boticario” from around 1840 to 1870, which was used as a medicinal bath. Its ruins are still preserved.
