Hotel Ambos Mundos
On the corner of Obispo and Mercaderes streets in Old Havana stands the Ambos Mundos Hotel, a building of eclectic architecture finished in 1923. It was reformed and enlarged in 1924 and 1930. In the early 1930's, the U.S. writer Ernest Hemmingway stayed at the hotel, where he wrote "Fishing Chronicles" and "For Whom the Bell Tolls".
